When? In Your Time

I've been playing this song over and over again in the car while I've been driving to and from sailing. At first the lyrics puzzled me. Then I realized... Bob Seger is singing to his son and teaching him some lessons about life.

So I dedicate this post to my grandson, Aidan.

Feel the wind
And set yourself the bolder course

Keep your heart
As open as a shrine
You'll sail the perfect line.

You'll be fine, in your time.

Congratulations, Tillerman-your family makes beautiful babies:)

T'would be good for a lot of us parenting types to remember that whatever immediate worries to the contrary, yeah, most of our kids are going to be fine.

A very timely post. Great blog Tillerman. I just started reading it last week and my first child, a boy, was born 49 hours ago. Congratulations on your grandson :)

Ah, that's why the Laser class is prospering. It's a cradle to grave thing with you folks.

This kid is going to learn the ooching rules on his teeter-totter.

Hi Tillerman, I'm so glad to have found your blog. I'm a writer, and one of my books had a couple chapters set on a sailing ship. I took a sailing class to get a feel for what it was like, and I got hooked. I experimented with a few different boats and fell in love with the Laser Radial. Now I'm making plans to enroll my 9-year-old son in a sailing camp next summer so he can learn to sail too!

I haven't been able to find any sailing blogs on LJ (where I keep my own blog, and document my inept newbie sailing adventures), but I'm thrilled to find yours here, especially since you focus on the Laser. I will be reading with great interest!
