Saturday Speedlinks

This week started with the final days of the US Olympic Trials. The Laser class produced a nailbiting finish with the two leading contenders Andrew Campbell and Brad Funk tied on points with a protest to hear as well. Kudos to Brad for having the grace to be the first to blog about that final day (even though he lost the protest and the tiebreaker) in Short of an Olympic Berth by One Boat Length.

As an avid Scuttlebutt reader I enjoy their mix of serious sailing news, discussion of hot topics and the occasional piece of humor. Scuttleblog is a place where the Scuttlebutt team can post stuff that is a bit too opinionated or off-the-wall to fit in the main newsletter. This week they addressed the vital scientific question of what would happen if you tied buttered toast to the back of a cat and dropped it from a height?

(No animals were harmed in the making of this blog post.)

Meanwhile Andy Rice has moved SailJuice from Blogger to WordPress (maybe I should do the same with Proper Course?) and is addressing the issue of which classes should be selected for the 2012 Olympics in a superb piece of sailing reporting and analysis Olympic Class Musical Chairs. Eleven into Ten Don't Go.
