If it is I won't be watching much... the chance to see, to own, to participate and to have any emotional feeling or attachment to that kinda sailing just isn't there for me.. my interest will be wow, freakin' cool and then I'll switch off... boats that large and fast cannot compete in a tactical race which is what the history of the AC is all about, it's not a pure straight-line downwind speed drag-race...
True they weren't dialing up, since it was more of a fleet race(America vs 13 British boats) and the race was started from Anchor. With that being said, i much rather watch what we had in the last few cups than a race in multi-hulls or what was run in 1851. But the Americas cup should not be afraid to change if will produce better racing at some point
While it's quite impressive, unless they are going to tow skiers around the course, you don't actually get that much of a sense of speed from watching them. I imagine a match race would be pretty boring - a series of drag races punctuated by lumbering tacks.

Is It?
Are you sure? I don't think America was doing much dialing up and dialing down off the Isle of Wight in 1851.

I wanna see what happens to the skiers in the event of a crash gybe.
