Enough Already

This Laser sailing game is just getting too hard for me.

First of all I ended up DFL in the final race of the 2008 Laser Masters Worlds. Last! Tale End Bozo! There's a message there somewhere.

Then I read of all the up-and-coming youngsters starting Olympic campaigns while still in college. How can I hope to compete with kids like Ross Bennett?

And the final humiliation. On Sunday, in the last race of Kurt Taulbee's Laser seminar, I was beaten by a 15-year-old kid in a Radial!

The message is clear. I suck at Laser sailing. I'm going to finally admit that I'm just too old for this game. I need a more comfortable boat. I'm going too sell my Laser, buy a Force 5, and go and play with the other old farts.

Get a Radial, loss 15lbs, and sail only in 15+ OR buy a J22. You still have a lot of stuff left.

Do you know where I can get a good set of golf clubs?

No. But if you are serious about taking up golf Tillerwoman has some old pink socks you can have.

Cool, that means I might go up the Sailing-Blogs ranking if your gonna convert yours to a less "fun" boat or even turn to Golf ;-)

Happy April 1st Tilleman...

Ah, then I guess I'll just take down my post with the nice pix of the Cedar Point Yacht Club Laser fleet that I took on Sunday (after having glued myself to the side of the committee boat). Might be too much excitement for one who's finally signing on to old-fart-dom.

Gonna quit marathoning, too?

;D

Time to man the Club Bar, methinks? lol

bonnie - great pics of CPYC - made me come over all nostalgic. As for marathoning, having run three in the last three years I have lost the urge to do any more, at least for a while - and that's no joke. Really.

tg aka mal - Club Bar? I'm a Laser sailor dude, I wouldn't want to join any club that would accept me as a member. I'm not in a club. I'm a vagabond, nomadic, freeloader traveling from regatta to regatta with no home club.

The truth about Tillerman giving up Lasers.

Come on Dont give up otherwise no one will want to read your blog anymore. Also on your profile it says that you are trying to be the best you can so that means you havent fulfilled your goal. Also you only sailed 18 days this year, probably 1/4 of the time all the other people trained for the worlds in. YOUR ONLY OLD IF YOU LET YOURSELF TO BE OLD>
