I am sure Mr Stranczek believes that his ancestors stepped off the boat with perfect English and American accents (or perhaps at least they were the "right" color.)
Kind of reminds me of a certain elderly lady I know in England who is prone to rant on about how "immigrants" are ruining the country and that the government shouldn't let any more in. When I gently pointed out that she herself is an immigrant (from Australia) and that I'm really glad that they let her in because otherwise I would never have met and married her daughter, she spluttered that she didn't mean people like her.
