I knew you'd get into trouble for telling people that Marmite tastes good.

It seems that for a short time in the last few days Norton was blocking ALL (or at least very many) blogspot blogs. Obviosuly some kind of Norton glitch or error.

I found this post in one of the Google forums...

One blog owner claims to have had a Live Chat with an online Symantec representative, and had promising result.

This is an ongoing issue with the Symantec server and we are aware of this issue & working on it to get it fixed. I request to run the Live Update after 24 hours until all the updates are installed and check the status.

and, subsequently
I just ran live update... FOR me the problem is fixed.

Strangely enough the problem hasn't really affected the traffic to my blog. If anything I had more hits on Sunday than on a typical Sunday! I guess not many people use Norton these days?

Actually Sunday was a big day for me too - somebody (probably Amy at www.newyorkology.com ) posted a link to my 2012 update to 25+ Ways to Get On The Water Without Your Own Boat list and I had over 300 visitors from that.

I should subtitle that post "The Proper Course Writing Challenge That Keeps On Giving". Has to be one of the most useful posts on my entire blog, and it's certainly the most visited.

If it is only Norton, not so bad - here in the UAE they block all Typepad blogs - no explanation, no error message - just blocked. So, I can only see Horses Mouth, Messing about in Boats and others when I travel.

Amy did tweet a link to your post.

Actually that format for a title "XX ways to do things that people might want to do in a place where there are lots of people looking for things to do" must be a great recipe for getting links from other sites. You might even get a posting in a pie shop.

Hmmm. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Horse's Mouth turns out to be the reason that all Typepad blogs are banned in the UAE.

Funny, I thought there was a good chance I was going to end up at the Hawaiian barbecue downtown today (not much food at home since I cleared out the 'fridge for vacation) but for some reason now I might have to go to Tuck Shop NYC...
