Tillerwoman and I went out to lunch today at our favorite restaurant by the bay.
I'm not going to tell you where it is. I don't want 2,000 people there next time we go for lunch.
I could have taken photos of the food.
But I didn't.
Instead I offer the above photo for your pleasure.
The restaurant had one of these.
What is it?
I thought it might be an industrial strength margarita blender.
But I was wrong.
I'm sure one of my incredibly smart readers will know.
What is it?
I think I'll go sailing now.

I know what it is...and I'm pretty sure Prince Philip doesn't have one, although he might have met one depending how often he visits the colonies.
Prince Philip has met everyone and everything.
I think you may know. But you are wrong if you think that Prince Philip couldn't buy one of these in the UK.
That's a Mosquito Magnet Patriot Mosquito Trap. You can have one of this for $ 300.
Welcome to new commenter Távora.
That is indeed a Mosquito Magnet.
It was sitting in the shrubbery near the outdoor dining area at the restuarant. Apparently it mimics a large mammal by emitting a precise plume of CO2 (converted from propane), heat, and moisture that's combined with an additional attractant--Octenol or Lurex3--to attract the biting insects to the trap. Once attracted, they're vacuumed into a net where they dehydrate and die within 24 hours.
Devilish!
When we lived near a lake in NJ we never had a mosquito problem after a family of bats set up home in our upstairs window shutters. It was fascinating to watch the bats feeding in flight. Except they totally freaked out one of our daughters-in-law.
Boy, we need bats at Sebago. Or maybe a a Mosquito Magnet. Went out to the club to water the garden & see what could be picked. I snacked on a stunted cuke and a small tomato while I watered, and the mosquitoes snacked on me.
Mosquito humbug - that's the latest British Seagull outboard for Lasers
LOL BB. We asked our waitress what the mysterious device was and her first guess was a "boat motor". Then she thought it might be something that the landscapers used.
