When I was growing up in England in the 1950's (with a father who had served in WW2 in the RAF) this was still very much a source of intense pride and patriotism. I think more modern historians have debunked the significance of the Dambusters Raid but it was an inspirational story for a boy growing up in England only a few years after the event. My Dad took me to see the1955 Dambusters movie too.

Great stuff- very brave men. Of course the music was not right, but quickly solved that by a trip to YouTube.
