God, did I say that about Australians LOL - actually we love them, but we do have a very old and fierce sporting rivalry with them. In a strange ironic and paradoxical twist of humour our mutual respect is displayed in public displays of scorn and 'piss taking' LOL
Australians pretend to treat us English people with a similar ironic scorn. But we know it is just a sign of the the huge respect they have for us and their deeply held recognition that we are superior to them.
My favourite comment was made by our grumpy Prime Minister back in the late 70s when Kiwis were moving to Aussie because the economic climate was supposedly better. He said in an interview on national TV "NZers who immigrate to Australia raise the IQ of both countries".... think about it

Us Kiwi's say that there is only one thing geographically wrong with Australia..... its above water!
Ouch!
As a Kiwi, the question we always ask is - "What was God thinking when she made Australians? ".
Double ouch!

LOL kiwiyates. I like that quote. I assume it was from Robert Muldoon?
Pertinent to this discussion, Muldoon also said, "New Zealand was colonised initially by those Australians who had the initiative to escape."
