When I taught sailing, our attorneys said that we could not call a PFD a "Life Jacket" because it implied that your life could be saved versus keeping one afloat.
Yikes. Next thing the lawyers will be telling us that we can't call a drysuit a drysuit because it is only dry on the inside.
Good Job and worth putting them all together. and why do lawyer always want to make things harder?
...and dear Tillerman sir...I have heard (in regards to dry suits, wet suits, etc.) that there are only two kind of sailors....those who have "peed" in their foulies (hence the name actually)wet suits/dry suits/hiking pants and those who lie about it....
I have been racking my brains for (not a long exercise) and for the life of me, I can't think of one more Tip.My only issue with lasers (which I love sailing BTW) is that I always hook the sheety-thing on the aft-cornery-thing on a giey-thing. This invariably leads to a capsizy-thing.Annoying but not really life-threatening.
good collection of post. thanks
