Half the time I don't know what the hell the Tillerman is talking about.

Half the time I don't know what the hell Geraldo Rivera is talking about.

Tillerman, I think you're underestimating the threat posed by hoodies. They are insidious. Chavs in hoodies are tearing apart the fabric of British society! Consider the riots that spread across England last year.

That's a fascinating sociological insight BeachComber. I have been out of England for so long that I wasn't aware of the threat to the realm from "chavs in hoodies." In fact even the word "chav" seems to have been invented since I left the country. I gather it refers to young men from council estates, so I guess I was once a "chav" myself. Although we chavs didn't wear hoodies much in my day.

What kind of hoodies do the chavs favor? Harvard? Yale? Or the ones without an Ivy League logo, like the one worn by that Jewish chav in my fifth picture?

I only wear a hood on a jacket, not sweats, and even then only if it raining hard. Hoods interfere with hearing and peripheral vision. I much prefer a hat. One is also less likely to intimidate some American wacko with a gun.

You think Bill Belichick has cause for concern then?

I imagine some folks in your region get the fifth and sixth images mixed up. I do think Bill needs to clip his fingernails though.

I think you are right Baydog. These thugs in hoodies all look the same. Even when they are walking on water.

I don't, however, think simple neighborhood watch citizens in any state have the right to take the law into their own hands. Especially when the local police tells them to back off.

I think the term "chav" was made up after my time (early 90s) in England too. But those miscreants who fomented those riots, they were all wearing hoodies -to hide from security cameras - and chatting on their blackberries - secure and encrypted. So, ignoring the fact that I have a hoodie I'm quite fond of, who else but a hoodlum would wear a hoodie? And if one were walking through my neighborhood... pfft, I'd track that sucker down.

Indeed. And following your impeccable logic, who else but a hoodlum would use a Blackberry? Track those suckers down!

If hoods are made illegal, only hoods will have hoods.

If hoodies killed people, Facebook would never have been founded.

All of my hoodies have a large two-sided pocket in the front so that you can pull and fire your piece with either hand.
