Aaa Bibcock Dee Slothfully Non Noo Swoops Soss
In this array of letters, find the five main components of tonight's dinner.
One protein, one starch, three vegetables.
I can't remember how long it is since I posted without at least one image, and I ain't scrolling back to find out.
First reader to solve the puzzle is invited to suggest a title for a blog post which I must write.
No limits. Except Anonymous answers.
Baydog made me do it.
Update 7 April 3:15 pm
Well, Baydog cracked it! Brilliant!
The ingredients were indeed tofu, soba noodles, bok choy, scallions and snow peas.
The dish was Soba and Tofu in Ginger Broth...

Your wife cooked a sloth for dinner by mistake.
After you ate it, she said, "Woops!", and then you said, "Oh, no, no!"
Very close.
First thought; I made mine way too easy
Could you please post a picture?
I will post a picture if nobody makes any progress at all. That would give you three of the ingredients right away though. And then you would be left with an anagram for the remaining two which probably would be fairly easy. Maybe I'll give some more cryptic clues first.
I didn't find it easy. Hadn't even heard of one of the ingredients. On the other hand a 5 word anagram is probably a lot harder than a 3 word one.
Do you have to use all of the letters, or are there letters left over after all the ingredients are spelled out?
Clue #1. When cooking at home for ourselves, Tillerwoman and I are vegetarians these days. (We still enjoy fish and meat when dining out or eating with family or friends.) This is a vegetarian meal.
Unless I've screwed up you do have to use all the letters and use each of them as many times as they appear above.
It occurs to me that my comment above about 5 words is actually wrong. There are 5 ingredients but there actually 8 words (two 1-word ingredients and three 2-word ingredients.)
Tillerwoman (who has recently discovered how to use the Interwebs and now lurks on my blog) wishes to point out that my clue should read "When Tillerwoman is cooking at home for us...."
It is true. I hardly ever cook dinner. But I am occasionally allowed to look at her cookbooks and I did choose this dish yesterday.
Potatoes and beans! Everything else is just flavoring.
No beans. No potatoes. But lots of flavor.
Behind every hungry writer is a great cook.
Behind every great cook is someone taking credit for her cooking.
Under every cook is a hungry dog staring at the floor, waiting for scraps to appear.
I wish I had the time to solve this!
OK here's a scrap for the dog...
Clue #2: No swai or quinoa were harmed during the production of this dinner.
Tofu
Snow Peas
Soba Noodles
Bok Choy
Scallions
Bingo! The Baydog got it! That's amazing.
How did you do it?
Congrats, Baydog.
I had bok choy, noodles, and peas, and probably would have figured out the rest in just a few more months.
I think the real story is what has transformed Tillerman into a tofu eater. I just returned from an extended pub crawl in the UK and didn't see tofu on the menu once.
1. Arranged the letters alphabetically
2. Started thinking of things that I like and they eventually fit.
3. Used a pencil
Your clue about two-word ingredients was definitely key!
And tofu was the first non-meat protein that came to mind.
I really thought that this puzzle was near impossible without clues.
Even with the fairly heavy hint in the first clue that the protein was probably tofu only eliminated 4 letters.
Well done Baydog!
I am going to have to come up with some harder puzzles.
And I will have to write that post I keep promising about that change in our eating habits!
BTW: Tillerwoman, this dish looks delicious! What was in the broth? Any miso?
Tillerwoman thanks you for the compliment. It was delicious. One of the best meals we have had since we went (sorta) vegetarian.
No miso. Tillerwoman made the broth from water, the white parts of the scallions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, crushed red pepper flakes and rice vinegar.
That looks delicious. Good job Baydog.
THX TM, OD, and PB! I'm hungry now.
I couldn't get past steak.
