It's been a bit breezy at the Sunfish Worlds in Lewes Delaware this week with a NE wind kicking up some nice surf in the launch area. Photo credit to Sue Ingram via a Facebook posting by Eric Woodman.

There are some days when I feel quite nostalgic for my former life as a Sunfish sailor.

I think I would have enjoyed this Worlds.

And I also have a story about sailing at Lewes Delaware. Same conditions. Lets see, that's two posts I owe you.

This is where we all miss O Docker the most

Early experiments with foiling proved to be less successful than hoped

See? Ya just yank the daggerboard and she'll leap out of the water and overfly the competition!

I hope that's not the "used World's sail" I just ordered from the DInghy Shop.

Even though most Sunfish are born in captivity, when young they are spirited and rambunctious. Here, boatboys are trying to "daggerboard" a young Sunfish. Daggerboarding is a necessary first step in training a Sunfish to carry a skipper.

What's your problem? It even got a nice wash just after this pic was taken.

Great stuff everyone. Keep 'em coming.

O Docker went missing in the surf at Lewes?

You'd think at the World's they'd know that the daggerboard goes in from the top...

"Listen Dean, mate, it was you lot that told Larry to use cheaper, safer boats and fewer crew members for the 35th AC."

Larry and Moe are wishing they had asked Curly to help with launching.

Didn't I tell you to light the rocket *after* I've got in?
