Red Wine and Duct Tape

Just got back from 10 days at the Bitter End YC in the BVI where I ate too much, drank too much... and sailed, kayaked, paddle-boarded, swam, hiked, ran and stargazed just the right amount.

While I was there, someone told me the secret about the difference between men and women that has eluded me these last 66 years...

Women think red wine will fix everything.

Whereas men think duct tape will fix everything.

I never knew.

I think I'll open a bottle of red wine now.

Welcome home! I missed the completely insane, prolific, witty, erudite, and authoritative writing from you, my American sailing icon. You're an esteemed and excellent Laser blogger, the gold standard if you will. Yours could very well be the best sailing blog on the planet. You're a total nutter, and I love you man

Do the days sailing in the BVI not count in your 'Days on the Water 2014' tally?

Good question Baydog. Would it be the same if I saw you in heaven? Can I count sailing days in heaven? Am I really back or am I sleeping with the fishes? Or am I just too lazy to update my "Days on the Water in 2014" page?

By they way, about the the one thing I would improve about BEYC is the quality and creativity of the dinner menu. They need a really savvy chef who understands what sailors like to eat. Know anybody like that?

Um, like Point Judith fried calamari Po' Boys with pickled okra tartar sauce on toasted King's Hawaiian rolls, and tender pork bellies and shiitakes with lo mein and bok choy?

If I build them, will you come?

Absolutely.

Haha, Duct tape for if it moves and it shouldn't, Q20 / WD40 for it doesn't move and it should

Right Smilicus. And I'm sure you of all people can tell us when we should be moved to drink red wine.
