- run a marathon
- moved house
- run a half marathon
- raced in the Caribbean Laser Midwinters
- raced in the Laser North Americans
- raced in the Laser Masters Worlds
- raced various other even windier regattas.
I did all of the above without any major injuries and only minor aches and pains.
This morning I pulled something in my lower back while trying to put my socks on. Now I can't even bend over to tie my shoe-laces. I have been hobbling around all day like a refugee from the nursing home.
Is this what it is like to be old? Thank god I still have Tacticat.

This suggests a whole new blog called "ProperHose". You could talk about all aspects of hosiery like the relative merits of different knits, your exploits in various competitions, philosophy of practice, online simulations, how you know if you're getting better, how to pee with your socks on, pre-dress preparation, etc. The possibilities could fill an entire... Hmmm, "ProperHose -- my virtual sock drawer"
Dang! Don't you hate it when something so sily like that floors you? Rats! Hope things straighten up easily soon.
Now all we need to do is get you a peg-leg, an eye-patch and a parrot for your shoulder! Arrrgh! heh heh

Mal :)
Your sympathy for my plight is overwhelming.
M squared - thanks for the suggestion for the sock worship blog. My current feeling is quite the opposite. I may well burn all my socks and never wear the damn things ever again.
Tillerman, bad luck with the injury. The worst thing about getting older I've found is that it takes that much longer to get better. I know some really good back stretches from Pilates if you're interested.
Does this mean we can look forward to some extra blogging?
