This was an old pair of pants that I took to Spain to wear on top of my very expensive neoprene sailing shorts to protect them. They must have been older than I thought because after a few days I had worn these huge holes in them and they were providing little to no protection in the areas that count.

I'm actually surprised you wear them at all. I surely don't want to see a picture of you wearing them!
It's not quite clear to me if those are American "pants" or British "pants"... Not sure I want to know...
Cut down on the spicey beans. Should help you get better wear from your shorts.
