Carol Anne, I am not shure if these RIBS are self righting. How can they overcome the massive buoyoncy of the side tanks to flip back? What is the world record of holding your breath under water?? But it is right, the guys have to hang on to it (get outta there first) as we should do in case of.... Wishing this to nobody ever.
Interesting that all of the responses (so far) to my question, "What would you do?" have been answered from the perspective of a guy on the RIB. I guess you boaters unconsciously put yourselves in the position of a guy on the boat while watching the video.
I was actually thinking, "Here am I taking this stupid video and all of a sudden there are 3 guys in the water in danger of drowning and the only lifeboat for 50 miles is disabled. WTF do I do now?"

I suppose, if I was one of the lifeboat crew, I'd wait for it to right itself and climb back in. Easier said than done.
I would bodysurf back into shore. What you are supposed to do is stay with the boat until you are rescued.
Hang onto the boat. It's designed to turn itself back upright on its own.
