Does it ever not blow hard on San Francisco Bay?

P.S.- I love the 'about me' feature. Alot of the stuff my wife didn't get.

Thanks Baydog. I have no idea if it blows hard all the time on SF Bay. It may just be a rumor spread by the locals to keep people like me away.

My "about me" feature was based on a post I wrote several years ago when the "100 things about me" meme was going around. I had to update it a bit.

What doesn't your wife get? Let me know and I will try and change all the other items so she doesn't get those either. Obscurity is indistinguishable from genius.

Maybe it was more 'didn't get why I was laughing'.

And I'm proud to say that I probably had something to do with the Stilton and charcoal references.

Absolutely. I'll try and see if there any other recent references in the posts or comments that might be better than some of the old lines.

Yes, Baydog, by city ordinance, winds must blow at least 18 knots at all times on San Francisco Bay.

This was one of the requirements for having the bay designated a 'natural amphitheater'.

Come on! It doesn't look like that much breeze in that video. Hey, its not even Summer yet!

Right on SFBayLaser. I don't know what all the fuss is about. It's not very windy and not even foggy in the video. Are you sure this is really San Francisco?

For any of my readers who don't remember the sail numbers of all 200,000 Laser sailors, if I'm not very mistaken that's the writer of the previous comment sailing 171007 fast and stable in the first clip in the video.

The sail number of the Radial sailor doing the "Uh oh the bow's digging in... uh oh no it's really going down... uh oh now it's rolling to windward... oh shit this is definitely not fast" maneuver suggests it is Christine Neville, whom I think of as a New England sailor but apparently she was out sailing in the magnificent amphitheater of SF Bay recently.

You seem to have a good memory for sail numbers! Indeed that is Christine Neville who is now a resident of the Bay Area. A good addition to the local fleet!

LOL. I do remember racing with Christine Neville in New England last year, but my memory for sail numbers is Google-assisted. Sometimes I even need to use the Google to remember my own sail number.
