Pictures

How important are pictures on blogs?

What does the choice of pictures tell you about the authors of those blogs?

Do pictures influence whether you want to revisit those blogs?

Here are a few examples to make you think...

Yarg posted some tacks.

Baydog posted an exit sign.

Bonnie posted a form.

Taru posted Taru.

What does it all mean?

Just asking.

Hm, what does it say about a guy who doesn't have my blog on his blogroll? After all the work I went through to make you happy, I don't even get a tee-shirt.

Oh yes, TARU!!!! I don't really care why she posts pictures of herself, as long as she does it, I'm happy.

What were the other pictures of?

Joe, I told you all about this in the comments on your blog. Please try and keep up with the rest of the class.

We all know that you are the thought leader, the trend setter in the sailing blogosphere so when you moved me and all your favorite bloggers off your front page and into a separate links page, I decided to emulate your bold move.

I'm not as adventurous as you so I decided to move blogs one by one to the new roll of honor. As you are our leader I gave you the distinct privilege of being moved first. Then I even added some other websites in your genre to make you feel more comfortable. So just click on Links and you will see what a great job I did for you.

Case closed. Justice has prevailed.

That's pretty damn funny! Now what was the original question?

Tillerman said...

Question? Who asked a question? I have no idea. Was is something to do with what exit you are?

tillerman - the "Links" page was hard to find (other than in your comment). is there a way to get it to show up higher up on your Blogger template?

Tillerman said...

The Links page is right there as a bright blue link right on the front page of my blog. Sure it's at the bottom of the page but Joe is a humble guy. He wouldn't want his Links page to be any more prominent.

Tillerman, on the Links page, you've left off a link to a critical "piece" of the equine anatomy.

After all, you don't want Joe, of all people, to feel... inadequate

Tacks is clear enough. Baydog obviously "gets off" on exit signs. Bonnie is a military brat (sorry Bonnie, no harm intended) and so views paperwork as part of the program, and Taru - well for her it's all about Taru, isn't it?

Why is any of this a mystery? Seems as plain as the nose of Joe's horse's face to me.

WV - "extri" - extri, extri, read all about it!

Speaking of the links page, wondered if I will ever have the honor to make Tillerman's much proclaimed blog roll.

Tillerman said...

Smilicus, I see that my blogroll maintenance android Arvin has now recognized the excellence of your blog and added it to my blogroll.

Arvin says that Joe is still in a class of his own and is the only blog worthy of being on the special Horse Links page.

Tillerman said...

Panda - good answers. It just struck me that our blog pictures say a lot about us.

Smilicus said...

Thanks Tillerman - must agree Joe is in a league of his own and I believe it will be some time before someone can join him in "Horse Links"

Pictures are the windows to the soul of a blog.

Ah-ha, Smilicus, you old sourdough. Thought you could slink by unnoticed by the authorities. You are about to be added to the Rogues Gallery and thrown into the hoosegow. Justice will be served.

It's lonely out here on the range.

Yes Anon. St. Francis Yacht Club is bringing back the Laser Slalom this year. I'm hoping Joe Rouse will enter.

No offense taken, Pandabonium, I think "Navy brat" is the exact name that I and most of the other Navy kids I grew up around use to describe ourselves.

A couple of years ago, my mom did tried to tell me that no, no, no, the name EVERYONE uses for Navy kids is "Navy Juniors", but that was the first (and last) time I have ever heard ANYONE use that phrase, so I don't know about that.

About the pictures: But where are the fish? I always thought you guys were all about the fish. Look, Frogma has lots of fish!

Although actually Alex and Taru did have one of the most spectacular fish I've seen lately. That was an awesome fish.

My blogging friends seem to be all about chicken this week.

bonnie said...

Chicken? Oh, oh, Frogma has chicken too. Nice chicken! Come see chicken?

Will caulk-a-doodle do?

I do not know about the other, but Taru's pix reminded me to re-follow her, er... their blog.
