I was 15, living in England. JFK was the first politician from any country that really inspired our generation. And yes I remember exactly where I was when I heard the news.
He was also said to be fond of Royono, a 73-ft yawl built in 1936, and then owned by the Navy Academy. In March 1973 I had the adventure of being on a delivery crew taking it from Ft Lauderdale to Kittery, Maine. ReplyDeleteI was 2, but my mom and dad remembered exactly "where they were" when that occured. The world basically stopped spinning for a time, as they put it.
