Holy crap! I struggled with 'Ballad' for a couple of hours and gave up. Mental block after the first line. Yours was classic, however.
Thanks Baydog. The narrative format of The Ballad of John and Yoko seemed to fit fairly well to a story about my sailing adventures that summer. Once I realized I could use the "crucify me" line for DNS, BFD, OCS etc. it almost wrote itself.
