Where am I ?
Clues...
1. I have been boating on the waterway in the photo, although not in this exact spot, and did write about that experience on this blog.
2. The name of the establishment we are at is something sailors should know about.
3. Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Rhode Island any more.

Wherever you go,
...
there you are.
Is that someplace down East, or further?
You're in photo-4jpg. Somewhere I wish I'd been today. On a deck outside a seafood restaurant, drinking a craft beer or Dark n Stormy, overlooking a small fishing port, scheming your next blog post.
That is an amazingly good answer Baydog because everything you say is correct even to the extent that just out of vision in the photo (actually in the frame of another shot I took) was a boat actually called Dark n Stormy!
Around here, "Down East" usually means the coast of Maine. And we aren't in Maine. But we are somewhere in New England if that's what you mean.
Posted a few clues.
Are you at Skippers Dock in Stonington, CT?
No, but it's that kind of place. And the name does have boating connotations.
Sorry, I elected to allow others the chance to correctly guess your whereabouts in the photo. I was too busy sailing today, for a change!
I imagine one could procure a good lobster roll there?
For some reason you've stuck your head in a cardboard box and cut an oval hole on the side.
I don't need to know why: what happens not-in-Rhode-Island stays not-in-Rhode-Island
Good for you. I wasn't sailing this weekend because we ad our two grandsons for a "sleepover" at our house for two nights. we Went to the zoo on Saturday, followed by lunch on the water at the place above, then play in the paddling pool on our lawn.
Actually no. They do a lobster cocktail and a "naked" lobster but no lobster roll. No idea why. It would be the perfect place for a lobster roll.
Sorry. Occasionally I am tempted to play with the effects in my Photo app. Must have been the Buzzards Bay IPA.
The Back Eddy in Westport, MA? Not sure but looks familiar.
Well done John. It is indeed the Back Eddy in Westport. I hoped that this view (especially the flying fish) was distinctive enough for anyone to spot it.
The fish were the main giveaway (but I'm not sure how common they are). But the background didn't look quite right; photos tend to make depth perception difficult.
That is great spot for all types of playing on the water. I like to go kayaking on the river and out into the open water.
The boating on the waterway which I referred to in the first clue was also kayaking. I went kayaking (further up the East Branch of the Westport River) with my sons for my birthday four years ago. If I ever really get into kayaking, as I keep promising myself I will, that area is one I would like to explore more.
