The Laser Class Rules state that any change or addition not allowed by the rules is "ILLEGAL!" The rules specifically allow a wood centreboard to be used on a hull that was originally supplied with a wood centreboard.
However, the Laser Class Rules do not specifically allow wooden centreboards to be used as shed doors. Therefore, the use shown in the photo above would be "ILLEGAL!" under the Laser Class Rules.
Those were the days. Now the blades are plastic, the tiller is carbon fiber, and the sail is made out of cloth rejected by Victoria' Secret because it is too flimsy.

#802 had wooden blades, tiller, and cockpit rails, and a sail built by Elvstrom

#s 2104 & 2105 were delivered with wood boards. We eventually went to plastic.
