Exciting News from Canada





Exciting news from Canada this week. (How often do you read that?)


The Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, announced that underwater archaeologists have discovered one of the two ships belonging to the Franklin Expedition lost in 1846.

This is very interesting and a log time coming. I am surprised however that none of the articles I've read about this discovery has stated at what depth the wreck sits. And we find out which ship this is, the question will be, where is the other one?

I must admit I haven't searched very hard for more details on this Panda. Maybe they are keeping the actual location secret for now. As the boats were trapped in the ice together you would imagine the other ship might not be very far away. But what do I know about it?

Anybody know what technique was used to make this image? And is the ship really sitting on the edge of what looks like a deep canyon?
