The Fitter You Are The Faster You Go

I've always found that the earlier in the season I start watching fitness videos, the easier it is to watch them later in the season when it counts.

I start out easy in January, watching two or three a week, just to stay loose, but gradually increase reps and intensity until I'm watching several every day by early spring.

As we age, it's crucial to keep alive in our minds the memories of things we used to be able to do when we were younger.

Great point O Docker. My plan is to watch video of sailors doing their fitness routines in February and March; and then watch videos of sailors actually sailing in April and May. I figure that means I will peak for the important regattas in June and July when i will watch other sailors collecting all the trophies, as usual.

I am so tired just watching that I need a day for my muscles to flush out the thought of lactic acids and all those other bad things

Take it easy Anonymous. Never watch fitness videos on consecutive days. Start slowly and work up to three fitness videos a week. If you can maintain that level of effort for three months you will be in good shape for the sailing season and won't get any injuries from overtraining.
