Suspended

Tillerman announced Wednesday that he is suspending all activity on his blog in order to focus full time on the historic crisis facing the nation's economy. In a brief statement to the press he said that he was calling on all sailing bloggers to follow his lead and to come together to solve this problem. He requested that next Wednesday's beer can race be postponed if the economy had not been fixed by then. Tillerman is returning to Newport and will be holding meetings with fellow bloggers about a bailout package for distressed boaters at the usual bar on Thames Street.

I'll bring the Aussie beer along... the real stuff :D

Do you understand that by taking this action you may be tipping the Blogging completely over to Edward?

I would be disappointed if Edward took advantage of this historic crisis to score cheap blogging points. This is not a time for East Coast Bloggers and West Coast Bloggers. It is a time to put Sailing First. And this is not the the time to go beer can racing when we should be in the usual bar working out how to save the world.

The old sailing dinghy we used to have came with a bailout package.

It was highly promoted by the manufacturer as a simple solution for when we had gotten in over our heads and the boat was sinking.

It was expensive, complicated, difficult to maintain, and it never worked.

In the end, we discovered that the best way to keep the boat dry was to steer wisely in rough conditions, to change course if we saw a storm coming, and to reef down before things got out of hand.

Good point Mr O'Docker.

Unfortunately someone borrowed the dinghy's drain plug and he bundled it with some other boat parts and sold it to somebody else and then someone did a swap for it and there's no way we can find it now.

We have to bail here and bail now. Bail Baby Bail.

Tillerman, Tillerman

First giving up on your goal. Now your giving up this blog. Tisk, tisk, I thought you had more moral spectra sailing fibers in you.

I'm not giving up the blog. I'm just suspending it so I can....

Hmmm. I forgot why I suspended it.

What were the reasons now? I’ll… try to find you some and I’ll bring them to you.

I've got half an old plastic drink bottle I used to bail out with. Wanna borrow?

Yikes says this "distressed" blog reader?

Anyone who claims to be a real blogger should be able to blog about sailing and solve the country's financial problems at the same time. I sure plan to show up in the blogsphere even if you all are in the bar, even though I would really like to be there.

Tillerman, since you are actually only running to be a blogger, shouldn't you let the guy who actually holds the office of blogger do the bailing?

In my dinghy, I just prefer to sit in the puddle and let positive buoyancy do its work without expensive blogging intervention.

Edward, I am calling on the Blogger-in-Chief to hold a meeting of all the interested parties to discuss how big the bailer should be, and how to ensure that it stabilizes the dinghy without splashing water on the folks doing the bailing.

I invite you and your crew you to work with me and my crew and the race committee to delay the beer can race until action has been taken on the crisis of the missing beer cans.

This is not a time for beer can races. It is a time for having our photos taken at a meeting with the Blogger-in-Chief.

Great idea, TM! I'll be there at the bar to help, and I'll bring a plate of freshly-baked cookies.

maybe we can sell the cookies, to say the Japanese sailors...

Tillerman, if you're going to take such a dramatic leadership role in the blogging community, I think you need to know what it's causing:

News on new candidate

I am shocked. That woman on the TV described me as a "random person" and "someone who nobody has ever heard of". How dare she.

I am immediately unsuspending my suspension of activities even though I didn't quite manage to rescue the US economy single-handed yesterday. I am leaving for Mississippi now to sail in tonight's beer can race.

Got my vote. How do you register from Aus

Wouldn't the blogger in chief have to designate a committee to establish pre-meeting parameters for naming a committee to hold the meeting, as well as to define the terms "bailout", "bailer", "water", and "sink". Sorry, can't make it, gotta go "sailing".
